Guillermo Estévez Boero, en los años del gobierno dictatorial, creó un eficaz sistema de protección de los militantes. Además, desplegó una intensa actividad en el exterior, recomponiendo los lazos del Partido Socialista con la Internacional Socialista. Fue un promotor de entendimientos entre dirigentes de fuerzas opositoras y consiguió que una fuerza, por entonces, minoritaria como el Partido Socialista, fuera incluida en la histórica Multipartidaria.
Si bien mantuvo una prudente distancia con la gestión castrense, siempre reconoció la importancia capital que las Fuerzas Armadas tienen para la Nación. En efecto, no dudó en apoyar la decisión de recuperar, por la vía de las armas, la soberanía argentina sobre las Islas Malvinas y, tras la derrota, su idea fue “(…) formar un frente nacional alrededor de su columna vertebral, el Movimiento Nacional Justicialista”.
Desarrolló, asimismo, una eficaz política de acercamiento de las expresiones socialistas dispersas, conformando las Mesas de Unidad con la Confederación Socialista Argentina. Eduardo Di Pollina reconoce en él “al gran responsable de esta organización política”.
Hoy cumpliría 90 años. Solía decir: “para nosotros el mejor socialista no es el que más sabe de socialismo, sino que para nosotros el mejor socialista es aquel que más socialistas hace o ayuda a hacer”.

Guillermo Estevez Boero was born in Rosario, Santa Fe, in 28 december in 1930.
During the dictatorship had created one clever system for protection of militancy. Also he make at intense activity in the foreign, in this case, rebuidilg the relationship between the Socialist Party and International Socialist. In Argentina he ever promoved the understanding between oposit forces and achieved that one minority force, like was once in 80´s the Socialism, it was included in the historical Multipartidaria.
He mantained one prudent distance whit the Military goverment, and ever recongnized the capital importance of Army, Navy and Air Force for the Nation. In fact, he not hesitation in support the desición of recuperated, by means weapons figth, the argentinian soveregnity over the Islas Malvinas, and, after the military lose, he tought that the best for the contry were to form one national front around The National Justicialist Movement, like spine.
He developed, also, one effective policy of approach between scattered socialist expresions, forming the United Table with the Argentinian Socialist Confederation. Eduardo Di Pollina saied: “He have was the big responsible of this political organization”.
Today he would fulfill 90 years. He ever say: “for us the best socialist is not that most to know about socialism, if not is that which more socialist make or help to make”.
