Hoy el doodle de google está dedicado a James Naismith. Naismith nació en Canadá, fue docente, profesor de Educación Física y mientras se desempeñaba como tal en la YMCA International Training College, Massachusetts, Estados Unidos, en 1891, inventó el básquet.
La imagen muestra a quien, por el peinado y los bigotes es, inequívocamente, el doctor Naismith tomando notas mientras dos jugadoras tiran al canasto y en la ventana puede verse la nieve caer.
En efecto, el origen del básquet tiene que ver con lo que le fuera encomendado al profesor: crear un juego de entretenimiento de interior, dada la crudeza del invierno en Nueva Inglaterra.
Pocos años después el básquet adquirió status de juego olímpico, hoy se juega oficialmente en más de 200 países y en el nuestro, Argentina, se viene jugando brillantemente, al punto de ser, por los valores a él asociados y por quienes nos representan en el mundo merced a haberlo jugado magistralmente, una disciplina que merecería ser “deporte nacional” por excelencia. Por excelencia y por ley.

In fact, the educational institution encomend to Naismith create one enterteiment for indoor because the winters, in New England, are very strongs.
A few years later, the basketball was considerated Olimpic Game, and nowaday it is playing in 200 countrys. Historicaly, in Argentina, the basketball has have playinng with excelence to such an extent that, for the values asociated to him and for our representatives that Argentina have around the world, would deserve to be national sport, for excelence… and law.
